pest control market opportunities australia
Project

Identify market opportunities for a chemicals manufacturer specialising in the control of fly larvicides for a Swiss company.

Client

Our client is a specialist chemicals producer for controlling nuisance flies in the agricultural, farming, animal husbandry and waste management sectors. The product was an insect growth regulator (IGR), or development inhibitor, a chemical insecticide that kills nuisance insects indirectly by disrupting their moulting cycles.

Objective

To undertake a descriptive review of the nuisance fly control market in feedlots and general livestock farms and identify a customer willing to trial the product.

Outcome

Our work entailed contacting selected feedlot and farm owners and managers to better understand their fly control issues. We found a significant lack of knowledge about fly larvicides amongst the feedlot managers and farming communities, and an enthusiasm to find out more.

As a result, two feedlots agreed to undertake a trial of the client’s fly larvicide chemical products.
